Hi Susan,
On behalf of the Grade 1 staff and students here at xxxxxxx Primary School, we wanted to say a HUGE thank you for running our cooking excursion last week. The feedback from the students has been very positive. They absolutely loved making the pineapple and carrot muffins and enjoyed eating them even more.
Thank you for being flexible and accommodating the large number of students we brought there each day. We look forward to speaking again in the future.
Kind Regards,
Kara
and the Grade One Team
Hi susan
Thank you again for our excursion last week – everyone raved about it!! This is what we put into our school newsletter
SENSATIONAL SCIENCE
In Term 3, Level 2 has been studying Sensational Science! We have been looking at concepts such as gases, liquids, solids, melting, dissolving, hypothesising, evaluating and who or what scientists are. Last week we went to Gourmet Kids Cooking School to look at the science behind baking. We cooked up a storm measuring, creaming, stirring and beating to create cupcakes! Did you know that icing sugar dissolves in water to make yummy icing!!??
Isacc L (1C) – ‘I liked putting the sweets on!’
Hayley VG (1D) – ‘I liked stirring the runny egg into the butter and sugar mixture.’
Willem P (1N) – ‘We got to make cupcakes. I liked how we got to use colour and decorate them!’
Mia T (1C) – ‘I like stirring the mixture! I used pink and blue food colouring to make purple cupcakes!’
Ava N (2C) – ‘We had to measure 50-55g of butter and stir it to make it soft.’
Tom F (2W) – ‘Everyone liked licking the mixture off spoons at the end before they became solid cupcakes!’
thank you again
